Chichibu Railway now offers the possibility to host your wedding reception in a retro steam locomotive

The brand new SL Paleo Express Wedding packages are a dream come true for railway enthusiast couples.

On March 10, the Saitama-based private Chichibu Railway began taking reservations for the SL Paleo Express Wedding, a brand new form of wedding experience perfect for train otaku or couples on the lookout for something somewhat bit different for his or her big day. The service, which centers around the corporate’s SL Paleo Express sightseeing train, begins wedding operations on May 7 and is subsequently available on days every time the train is in operation.

There are two plans to pick from. The more comprehensive Photos & Train Automotive Reservation plan (439,625 yen/US$3,748) encompasses a photography session for the couple in front of the C58363 steam locomotive, which dates back to 1944, in addition to at Hirosegawara Rail Yard. Perhaps most enjoyable, the plan also includes the rental of one among the C58363’s 4 train cars for personal wedding reception use.
